Simpson and Sons is a family owned estate agency who specialise in the buying and selling of flats in London and Brighton. Daniel Simpson, the founder of the company is based in Brighton, while his son John concentrates on properties from his office located in Central London. Each site has a staff of five agents, including the owners. Properties between London and Brighton are handled by Steven, Daniel’s youngest son, who works out of his home office in Croydon.
Sid needs to expand his telephony applications to compete with the big chains that are coming to dominate his market. At the moment he can’t afford to open new locations or hire new staff, but feels updating his technology will help with business. He would also like to improve communication between the three offices to make sure everyone is up to scratch on client queries and contract development.
Steven, whose home office is currently run with a dial-up internet connection, on his personal telephone line, needs to be upgraded to keep up with his growing customer demands.

Solution:
Simpson and Sons upgrade to high speed Primus Business broadband at each site – adopting higher bandwidth capacities to plan for future growth. The London and Brighton locations each install five VoIP lines – which can easily be diverted to agents’ mobiles when they’re out showing properties. Primus also allocates an NGN (0800) number to the company so customers throughout the country can reach them without costs.
Steven uses his home line to adopt a high speed broadband connection, through which he installs a separate VoIP line to be used strictly for his commercial dealings. Exchange between the three offices is now much easier on this streamlined Primus VoIP network. Calls amongst Simpson and Sons staff are now free.
With the new VoIP service, Simpson incorporates Primus Call Centre application – which gives callers the option of specifying which department they’d like to speak with, or the opportunity to input the extension of their desired agent. This will help Simpson and Sons vie for clientele with the leading property agencies in both cities by appearing larger and more professional to potential clients. It also increases savings by removing the need for receptionists at each office.
